Dryer Repair — Book a Visit Today
A dryer usually quits in stages. First it takes two cycles to dry a load of towels. Then the drum turns but nothing gets warm. Then nothing happens at all. Heating elements burn out, thermal fuses blow, belts snap, blower wheels crack, and lint packs the vent until air stops moving. In older Norristown homes, that vent run is often long and crushed behind the wall. Our visit starts with airflow and heat readings, then we open the cabinet and check the drive and safety parts. We explain what failed and what it takes to fix it before any work begins. We repair all major brands as an independent shop. Call us and tell us what the dryer is doing.

The dryer symptoms we hear most
- Runs forever and clothes stay damp Restricted venting, clogged lint path, or weak blower wheel
- Drum spins but there's no heat at all Failed heating element, blown thermal fuse, or bad gas valve coil
- Loud thumping or a screech every rotation Worn drum rollers, idler pulley, or rear bearing
- Push start and get nothing Door switch, start switch, broken belt, or control board fault
- Smells hot or scorched near the door Lint buildup against heat source or a failing cycling thermostat
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Pull the lint screen, hold it under running water, and see if the water beads up instead of passing through.
- 2Look behind the dryer to be sure the flex duct isn't kinked, crushed, or pulled off the wall fitting.
- 3Step outside and check that the vent flap moves when the dryer runs.
- 4Make sure the door latches firmly, since a loose door switch stops most dryers cold.
How it works
- Step 1

Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell or see. Grinding, leaking, no heat. Give us the brand and rough age if you can find the tag.
- Step 2
We book a window
Pick a visit time that fits your day. We ask about tight doorways, basement stairs and stacked units ahead of time, so the right tools come off the truck the first trip.
- Step 3
Diagnose, then repair
Our tech tests the machine, explains what failed in plain words, and lays out your options. Common parts ride along on the van. Ordered parts get scheduled for a prompt return.

Dryer Repair — quick answers
Why does my dryer need three cycles for one load?
Almost always airflow. Lint collects in the duct, the vent hood, or the blower housing, so moist air can't leave the drum. Heat may be fine. We measure airflow and clear or repair the path so cycles finish normally.
Is a dryer that heats but tumbles slowly worth repairing?
Often yes. Slow tumbling points to a stretched belt, a seizing idler pulley, or worn rollers. Those are mechanical parts that come apart and go back together. We look at the cabinet's overall condition and tell you honestly what we see.
Do you work on gas dryers as well as electric?
We handle both. Gas units add igniters, flame sensors, and valve coils to the list of things that can fail. We test the ignition sequence and check the connection for leaks before we leave.
How long does a typical dryer repair take?
Most visits wrap up in one appointment when the failed part is a common one we carry. If a control board or drum part has to be ordered for your model, we schedule a return trip and keep you posted.
Can I keep using the dryer until you arrive?
If you smell burning, see scorch marks, or the drum is very hot to the touch, unplug it or shut the gas off and wait for us. Otherwise light use is usually fine.
My stacked laundry unit sits in a closet. Can you still service it?
Yes. Tight closets and galley kitchens are normal around here. We need room to slide the unit forward, so clearing baskets and shelves ahead of time helps us get to the back panel faster.
