Why did my ice maker quit after I changed the water filter?
A new filter can trap air in the line. That air stalls the fill. Run several gallons through the dispenser to purge it. If the filter isn't seated fully, water never reaches the valve. Reseat it, wait a cycle, then call us.
How long should a full harvest cycle take?
Most units drop a batch every ninety minutes to two hours in a stable freezer. Right after a repair or power loss, expect a slow start. Give it a full day before judging output, especially if the door has been opened often.
Can you fix the ice maker without replacing the whole refrigerator?
Usually yes. The ice maker is a module bolted into the freezer wall with a wire harness and a fill tube. Valves, thermostats, and motors are separate parts. We replace what failed rather than the entire appliance.
My freezer is cold but ice still won't form. What now?
Cold air alone isn't enough. The mold needs water and a working harvest signal. We check the inlet valve for voltage, look for a frozen fill tube, and test the module. One of those three usually explains it.
Do you work on door dispensers too?
Yes. Dispenser problems often trace to a stuck flap, a frozen chute, an auger motor, or a broken paddle switch. Crushed ice failing while cubes work fine points to the solenoid. We test the whole path from bin to door.
Is a leaking ice maker urgent?
